Seletti has been the guest star at the opening of Artemis, Beijing’s first locally born and bred lifestyle boutique in the heart of the renowned shopping neighborhood Sanlitun Taikoo Li.

SELETTI X ARTEMIS pop up store, opening on June 10th, has been the occasion for Stefano Seletti, art director of the most irreverent brand of Italian design, to participate to a series of events focused around the company's best selling products such as the Hybrid porcelain collection by CTRLZAK, the Industry Garden set designed by Studio Job and the Monkey Lamps by Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba.

On June 9th a special dinner was held centered on the contamination between East and West. The guest have been welcomed in a special setting created with the most refined pieces of the Hybrid collection, the special dinnerware designed by CTRLZAK.

Each item – porcelain plates, bowls, serving plates, treys cakestands as well as glasses – reflect on the historical production of Chinese and European Bone China and its centuries of fertilisation between Western and Eastern aesthetics. Produced in Tangshan, the renowned “capital of Bone China”, refined by hand, the pieces decorations are sliced in half, creating new hybrids that juxtapose scenes and themes interpreted in the respective cultural imaginary. Contemporary forms to symbolize a complex past.   The following day, Artemis concept store was transformed in a wonderland garden for a special tea ceremony. Seeking for the fun sides in design and to awake the craziest fantasies in urban people’s daily life, ARTEMIS and SELETTI created a one month long outdoor “Delusional Garden” and store pop-up adopting some of SELETTI’s most signature design including the Industry Garden collection by Studio Job, I-wear tableware series, and the Monkey Lamp series. The special events in Beijing highlight once more the special relation between Seletti and China, dating back to early '70 when Seletti use to import houseware to Europe. Since then the Chinese market has changed drastically, and so has the brand which has become one of the most interesting cases in international design. Seletti brings now to China the irony of its creation and through its various collections including the ones developed with fashion brand Diesel and with TOILETPAPER, the image-only magazine created by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari.
